I have a little question. The United States Air Force acknowledged the fact that Area 51 exists, whether it is shut down or running they did not say but with satellites becoming a very common tool to locate and research things do you think that it was a bad idea to acknowledge the fact? Whether the USAF acknowledge the existence of Area 51 or not, the Russians have been aware of it for decades. The satellite photo on our Area 51 page was in fact taken by the Russians. Nothing much has changed lately - except we understand that Area 51 is still "busy". Thanks for visiting. Geoff and Steve.

I am using your website for a school project. I found useful information. The only thing is I have yet to find an author... If someone will tell me their name, because I can't use this website until I do... If not just make one up, and "DON'T" tell me. (WINK WINK) school teachers are morons. He said that he would personally check each website; come now that's over 600 websites. Approximately 150 kids, and each one requires at LEAST 5 sources. So I highly doubt he'll check. So make something up. Thanx.

The WHY? files - I even like the name and I noticed Mr. Obergs comments so you must be doing the business. You two guys have my respect for a good job, well done. In 1989 I was with friends night fishing at Lake Pleasant just North of Phoenix, Arizona. We observed a strange light hovering over the White Tank mountains. I don't remember the exact date but it was during the Summer at about two o'clock in the morning. It was a continual light (no pulsation) that changed colors like a crystal in a beam of sunlight. After about ten minutes of guessing amongst ourselves what it might be we noticed it start to move slowly from left to right over the mountains. I'm not sure exactly how far the mountains were from us but I would guess ten to fifteen miles. After it made a few passes along the mountain it suddenly turned bright red and streaked through the sky towards us. I would guess it took about four or five seconds to cover the distance between the mountains and us. As far as I can be sure there isn't anything man-made that could cover this distance (from a stop) in that time. As it reached the lake it slowed and hovered over the water about a hundred yards from us. My friends and other fishermen nearby ran for the cars. I stood and watched from the shore. As I stood watching I could see that it was fairly large and its red light glowed brightly on the waters surface which I would guess was about twenty or thirty feet below the "craft". It hovered for a few seconds then shot vertically with amazing speed until it vanished into the sky. Needless to say we were all speechless and a bit scared but we decided to stay. After about five minutes we heard jet engines rumbling off towards the mountains (Luke A.F.B is very close to the lake) then we saw what I would guess were F-16's circling near the mountain. After leaving the mountain the jets buzzed the lake very near to us then left in the direction of the base. For all these years I've kept this story to myself but after stumbling upon your magnificent site I felt I needed to share it with whoever was interested...... Thanks, Chris W.
